Storing berries in a glass jar can make them last much longer KitMaii

Storing Berries in Jars

Usually when shoppers bring berries home from the supermarket or market, they leave them in the punnet or wash them, cut them up and put them in a container for later.   Unfortunately some of the berries will probably go off before they get to eat them and even the best ones only last a couple of days.

A great way to help make your strawberries, blueberries, blackberries or other berries of choice last longer is to store them in a Mason jar or reusable glass jar with a firm closing lid.  By doing this, you can extend the life of the fruit.

Berry Storing Tips:

🍓 Use a clean glass jar that's been washed and dried thoroughly.

🍓 Discard any spoiled or bruised fruit before you put fruit in the jar.

🍓 Do not remove the stem, and 'do not wash or rinse' the berries before storing them.

🍓 Close the lid tightly to make it airtight.

🍓 Place the jar in the coldest part of your refrigerator.

🍓 The berries will not get mouldy using this method 💚

🍓 When you take out the fruit wash them before eating.
